PSPJ Intranet Hackathon Platform
Offline Java coding tests, submissions and CO-wise evaluation
Implemented pilotThe need
Campus Java assessments require consistent submissions, hidden tests, CO-wise marks and recovery when the internet is unavailable.
Why it was developed
Operate an institution-controlled intranet coding assessment workflow instead of repeatedly collecting programs and grading them manually.
How to use it
- Prepare a separate rehearsal environment. Read ORIGINAL-README.md, DEPLOYMENT.md and CAPACITY.md before an actual event.
- On Windows run setup-windows.cmd, then start-server.cmd for a local preview at http://127.0.0.1:8000.
- Use the generated local administrator credentials; import only a rehearsal roster first. The repository contains no real roster, passwords or event database.
- Provision the isolated Docker/Linux Java judge separately, rehearse compilation/submission and release results through the faculty workflow. Use the in-app role guides.
How it can save time or money
Automates compilation, test-case scoring and CO exports; reduces manual file collection and repeated grading. An offline intranet avoids a mandatory external assessment-service API.
These are potential benefits, not measured savings. Include setup, maintenance, review and local operating costs when comparing your own workflow.
Current scope & limits
Pilot implementation; capacity for 1,200 simultaneous students is not certified. Isolation and worker infrastructure must be tested. Docker deployment licence/host requirements depend on the environment. Production state and network-specific setup are excluded.
